Our waste management company provides garbage and recycling services to accommodate area residential customers. The following is a list of frequently asked questions about our collection services, as well as our partnership with RecycleBank.
1. What Do I Recycle?
Simply place all your recyclables into your recycling bin or dedicated roll-out recycling cart including:
- Plastics 1-7 (except #6)
- Glass Containers
- Aluminum containers

Due to a state law that went into effect July 2011, landfills can no longer accept electronics. The Foxhole Landfill located at 17131 Lancaster Highway, Charlotte, NC (located at Highway 521 right at the NC/SC State Line) will accept and recycle electronic items. Additionally, USB Recycling (3307A Highway 74 East) will recycle electronics. USB offers free drop off or local pickup for a fee. Call 704-207-1220 for more information.

Yard waste is collected once weekly in CLEAR PASTIC BAGS ONLY (beginning October 1, 2013 these must be biodegradable clear plastic bags). ANY AMOUNT OVER 5 BAGS OR BUNDLES MUST BE PRE-APPROVED WITH THE OFFICE AND ARE CHARGED AT $2 PER BAG OR BUNDLE OVER 5 ITEMS. The following neighborhoods yard waste is collected on Monday:

*Customers who live in these neighborhoods please submit a Yard Waste Pickup Request (located on the home page of this website) or call our office if your internet service is not available to get on the pickup list. Your request must be made – by internet request only – by 5:00 p.m. the day before your designated pickup day to be added to the list. Submitting the form is the only method of contact we can accept (written verification of the request is mandatory).

*Please submit a Yard Waste Pickup Request (located on the home page of this website) Your request must be made prior to 5:00 p.m. the day before your designated pickup day to be added to the list. Submitting the form is the only way a request can be made.
You are LIMTED to 5 bags of grass clippings OR ten bags of leaves (clear plastic only). If you have branches in small piles bundled (bundles must be bound, i.e. twine, tape, rope, etc) for collection they count as 1 bag for collection per pile. We will take up to 5 small piles of branches if they are tied correctly (this would be in lieu of 10 bags of leaves or 5 bags or grass – we will NOT collect five bags of grass AND 10 bags of leaves AND 5 piles of branches).
9.How should I prepare my yard waste?
Yard waste consists of grass, leaves, trim clippings and small branches (less than 1″ in diameter and less than 3′ in length). THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE TREES CUT DOWN FROM YOUR PROPERTY (please call a tree service for this disposal). You must place the items in a clear plastic bag or into an approved yard waste container for disposal. We do have some used trash containers available for purchase as dedicated yard waste containers. We ask residents to be reasonable with yard waste requests – we have had entire trees, 78 bags of leaves, vehicle sized piles of branches and other large quantities of trees and branches placed out for collection. ANY AMOUNT OVER 5 BAGS OR BUNDLES MUST BE PRE-APPROVED WITH THE OFFICE AND ARE CHARGED AT $2 PER BAG OR BUNDLE OVER 5 ITEMS.

12.What if I have extra garbage or need a special pickup?
Extra garbage and special pickups will be taken in reasonable quantities. Please call our office at least one day before trash service to schedule the extras and/or special pickup to be taken. Extra/bulk pickups are limited to one per month and DO NOT include construction debris, carpet/flooring. Please call office to schedule this collection mindful of the fact as spring cleanings begin we are filling our bulk orders more than one week in advance.
13.How do we dispose of larger items such as freezers or refrigerators? Is there any charge?

Residential customers are billed quarterly in advance of services rendered payments are due on January 1; April 1; July 1; and, October 1).
15.How do I cancel my account?
To cancel your account with God Bless the USA, Inc, it is company policy that you call the office at 704-708-5872 and speak with a customer service associate to ensure that the cancelation is processed properly and efficiently for both our valued customer and our company. We will not accept account cancellations via postcard or any other written letter. An early termination fee of $25 is charged for any account canceled prior to 1 full year of service.

3.How do I activate my RecycleBank account in order to begin receiving RecycleBank points?
Activate your online account with an email and password to order your rewards via the web at www.recyclebank.com or call 1-888-727-2978.
4.How do I earn RecycleBank Points (Dollars)?
GBUSA conducts community based recycling. This means all customers who participate on a recycling day have their participation recorded by our truck and everyone’s recycling is weighed and divided equally among all participating customers. This means you have a vested interest in what your neighbor and community recycle as a whole. The weight will be translated to RecycleBank Points.
5.How many RecycleBank points can I earn each month or year?
Households have the opportunity to earn a maximum of 450 points per month of 5,400 points per year.
6.How many points will I receive for each pound recycled?
The more you recycle, the more you can earn. Each household will receive 2.5 points per pound recycled plus regular earning opportunities from bonuses and promotions.
7.How can I use RecycleBank points?
The RecycleBank rewards program is fluid and dynamic. RecycleBank is constantly looking for new partners to create exciting and rich rewards program. We cannot guarantee that reward partners will participate in the program for an extended period of time. Please check our website frequently for reward opportunities. You are also welcome to call Customer Care at 1-888-727-2978 if you do not have access to the internet.
8.How can I order RecycleBank rewards?

9.What should I do if I have trouble accessing my account page online?

10.Will the rewards in the program change?
Yes. RecycleBank is constantly adding new businesses to better serve you and rewards are subject to change. Partners can also decide to discontinue rewards or will have limited time offers.
11.How long will it take for me to receive the rewards I ordered?
Rewards will arrive within 3 to 5 business days after your place your order.
12.What should I do if I do not receive my rewards within the 3 to 5 day timeframe?

13.Will my RecycleBank points expire?
Your RecycleBank points will accrue month to month for as long as you remain in the RecycleBank program. RecycleBank points expire only if there is no activity in a users account for over 6 months.
14.Do RecycleBank rewards expire?
Some rewards have expiration dates. Some rewards are offered on a limited time basis. This information can be found online (from your account page) or by calling Customer Care.
15.What do I do if I did not receive my credit?
You can report any missed credits by contacting us from within your online account page, or call us at 1-888-727-2978.
16.What can I recycle?
Acceptable items for recycling are labeled on your RecycleBank container. You can also find this information on our site. If you do not have access to the internet, Customer Care will mail you a printed list of acceptable items for the RecycleBank program.
17.What happens if I put items in my container that are not recyclable?
Placing items that are not recyclable in your container can negatively affect your RecycleBank account and can jeopardize the program for your neighbors.
